Training Call

In this call Tawny will introduce Ether with poetry, education, journal prompts and musings. Tawny will explain how to create ritual around the element Ether.

Select the Rituals button to download or view five simple rituals we can do to honor the Ether element this month. Choose one or more, and feel free to add your own. We’ll share our experiences at monthly Circle on the 4th Thursday this month.

Ether Meditations

Bathe in luxurious sound in this meditation, which helps you get acquainted to the ether element in your body, and then takes you on a sonic journey with bowls, bells and chimes to help you meditate on sacred space within and connect with an intention for this course.

We’ll access the element of space through a guided meditation that takes you on a journey through your body. Then, we’ll find spaciousness in the mind by recognizing the sacred pause in between our inhalation and exhalations.

Eco-Activism Challenge

Ether represents the spaces we inhabit and the connections we make in those spaces. This month we’ll challenge ourselves to protect all of the web of life – focusing on protecting wild spaces and their inhabitants and promoting diversity amongst people, animals, plants, minerals and even ideas. Below are ideas of organizations that are already preserving space. We can support these organizations by joining a membership, signing up for emails, donating, and getting involved with their local chapter. Use the links below to see which one(s) you’d like to support and how you can become involved with their mission.

The list below is by no means exhaustive. Feel free to share ideas to our Facebook group so that we can grow this list and this work.

Land acknowledgement
One way to honor the land is to recognize the original people who inhabited the land, their contributions and its history. At the beginning of our first Circle we’ll share who the stewards were of the land we each occupy. Use the link below to find out who has taken care of the land before you.  native-land.ca

Qoya

QOYA is based on the idea that through movement, we remember. We remember, as women, our essence is Wise, Wild and Free.

These ancient essences lead us to feel that sacred pulse of life that is within us always. When we feel this pulse we honor it and express it with greater clarity + joy. Through movement, ritual and community connection we learn to trust the physical sensation of truth in our bodies. QOYA is designed to help us feel how the body and our movements are portals to remembering, that guide us from going through the motions to savoring life as sacred.

We’ll be moving with the theme of Oneness in the Web of Life.

Ayurveda

We’ll practice self-care for the ears and the sense of hearing, as well as the mouth and sacred speech. Supplies: cold-pressed sesame oil and a medicine dropper, a thermos with hot water, a mug and something that makes a sound, like a bell, brass bowl or glass of water and a spoon.

You can find medicated ear oil and directions for oiling HERE.

I also love and recommend THIS online store and their beautiful Ayurveda products.

Wishgarden Herbs carries wonderful ear oils, as well, and tinctures (milk thistle!) for supporting your liver this Spring.

We touched on doshas and will continue to explore Tridoshic theory (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) throughout these 5 months together. You may want to take an online quiz (or three!) to assess your Prakruti, or constitution. These are three sources I trust and refer to often, take the average of all 3 tests.

Dosha Test 3

Enjoy your practices of self-care for the ears and for speech. And share your experiences with us in the Facebook Group!

Yoga

This month we’ll focus on opening the joints and transforming our inner space with sacred sound. We’ll also explore Purusha, the Mighty One, the Witnessing aspect of our consciousness.

Gather any yoga propts that support your practice ie: A block, pillow, blanket or candle and feel free to have an instrament near by as well.

Circle

We’ll gather this month to create sacred space and set our intentions and agreements for how to be the container for one another so we can dream, grow and realize the power in our connections.
